Care and maintenance tips
Care and maintenance tipsTo guarantee Years of riding enjoyment with Your boots, we encourage You to take the following care and maintenance advice to heart.
Before wearing Your new boots for the first time, go walking or better cycling. This looks strange, but with cycling the boot got his folds much sooner! In particular these folds gives the comfort in moving feet and bootleg! Better a 1/2 hour cycling as 1 hour walking with the boots.
After each use, clean the boot first with a sponge with cold water and clean the boot with a dry cloth. We advise a leather cleaner after this. Do not use saddle soap, leather grease or worse leather oil! Make sure to thoroughley clean the areas of the boot that come in contact with the horse. Horse's sweat is very damaging to leather that is not properly cared for. Apply a layer of good shoe cream or better shoe color cream. Gives the boot all the time before polishing (minumyum 6 - 8 hours). Using a pair of tights to polish creates a handsome shine. The inside of the boot upper will turn grey/white. This is normal. The reason is because the core of the leather is not fully black. For boots that are worn frequently, You can preserve the original colour beautifully by applying Petrie colour cream or VG cream every two weeks. Petrie colour cream contains lots of extra dye. Allow the colour cream to soak into the leather, and remove once again by polishing just before use. Use bootleg tensioners and better in combination with shoe tensioners.
We can't tell it enough! Your boots will be very happy with it, and the boot will keep his shape!
